| NOTES | This work is an archaic Shiva lingam from the Lopburi Period in Thailand when the ancient cities in the Northeast were satellites of Angkor Wat in the 12th Century, prior to being driven out by the emerging Thai Kingdom seated in Sukhothai.
There are many larger stone lingams still in place in the ancient ruins of the Khmer temples. This is a personal lingam for a home altar and representative of Shiva, the Hindu god who is the Destroyer of Evil. |
