NOTES Tomba del Tuffatore, or Tomb of the Diver, an exceedingly rare example of Greek painting.

Both long walls: men reclining on klinai (cushioned benches with raised end), playing music, singing, drinking, playing kottabos, having erotic interlude.

Symposium North Wall - central detail.
Men partying. The man on the left is casting the last of his wine into a bronze bowl, a feature of the ancient game of "kottabos" - the one able to make the bronze ring loudest was rewarded with the sexual favors of a chosen attendant.
